Community Resources
Aspen Mine Senior Center: Everyone is welcome, no matter how young or old. Home to both the Aspen Senior Club and the Golden Circle Nutrition Program luncheons, the Senior Center, on the top floor of the Aspen Mine Center, also hosts art classes, crafts workshops and bingo, and organizes activities and trips for seniors. Many of the Senior Center activities are listed on the website Calendar. For additional information, you may contact Senior Outreach Coordinator Serena Bielz at 689-3584, ext. 120, or by using the email address on our Contact page.
Children's Play Area: Front and center at the Aspen Mine Center is a fun area where children can play inside our indoor cave and playhouses, explore our toys and books, or have a snack at child-sized tables. With adult-sized furniture also at hand, this is a fine place to keep your kids productively engaged if you need to wait for appointments at the center. You will need to supervise your children in this area.
Cripple Creek Coffee: A variety of pastries and cookies, fresh made sandwiches, smoothies, and of course coffees, ranging from subtle to robust, are available daily at Cripple Creek Coffee. Customers are invited to linger over newspapers and board games and occasional live music. 689-2223. To visit the coffee shop's pages on the city's website, click here: CC Coffee.
